I was no stranger to the University of Nairobi; in fact I studied with my first two years studying for an MBA. But this time around I had been failing courses. I couldn’t understand why I was always placed at the back of the queue. Was I too lazy or was I not efficient enough?
My lack of efficiency didn’t help my cause much, but I soon realised that there was no point in repeating the same course again. I may have studied hard, but my lack of focused study had done nothing to prepare me for the University examinations. I spent hours reading the textbook, going through notes, trying to think of what to write but nothing ever stuck, so I just sat at home, waiting for the results.
I started getting a little worried when I realised that I would be spending another four years at UON. After all, how long would I have to spend at UON to get another degree? My financial planner told me that I would probably have to do it all over again. I decided that it was high time I took my e commerce course. There are a lot of things that I needed to do, so I planned to take my e commerce course from start to finish.
So I started my preparation. I read up on all the material I could find on the Internet and in bookstores. I learnt as much as I could about the topics that were related to e commerce, such as marketing, SEO, search engine optimization, PPC, affiliate marketing and affiliate management. I spent a lot of time researching the modules that would be necessary to successfully complete my course, and I worked out in my head exactly how everything would fit together. I created a work log of everything I did and how I did it, so I could track my progress. I also wrote a small term paper about one of the topics I was learning – the Ecommerce module.
The end of the day came when I actually had to write the paper. I had to make my notes and prepare my research. Then I would get in the car and drive to UON and do the final test. Everything went smoothly, as I thought, but I didn’t sleep well! Luckily I was able to sleep through it all.
When I finished, I found out that I had done quite well on the UON test. I had passed with flying colours! My dad was so happy and surprised that I completed the UON test and I think he was just as pleased with the results. It’s true, I am now a big fan of e commerce and I really want to pursue my e commerce module. I am taking a couple of day courses to complete my SEO requirements for the UON.
If you have completed any of the U ON courses or have studied at least some of the material from my blog on e commerce, you may well be ready to take my e commerce module. Take the plunge now, before it’s too late! Think of what you’ll learn, how great it will make you feel and how your life will change for the better!
