Principles of software development is the essence of programming in Python. Learning the principles of software development doesn’t make you any better at programming in Python. It only makes you a good programmer in general. When you want to develop a piece of software, you don’t want to think in terms of “what would happen if” – you think in terms of “how can I”. You don’t want to think of the possibilities – you want to focus on the possibilities.
The best way to learn to write code is to get your hands dirty with real life projects. In those projects you get paid for what you do. So the better you get at it, the better you’ll feel about yourself. So if you want to do better, then you have to do things that make you better. Think of this as work! Because you’re paying someone to do it for you, it’s no different from getting paid to work in an office.
You can choose how much time you want to spend studying. If you’re in a hurry to get something done, then you can spend more time studying. If you have enough free time, you can spend more time studying. The beauty of this system is that once you have learned all the material and know the concepts, you don’t have to read the same chapter twice!

Some things to study for on the exam include: types, structures, sequences, function definitions and others. Make sure you get a guidebook that has all these topics listed. Look at a lot of samples. Don’t get too caught up in theory so much as just how things work. By doing this, you will start to see patterns and better understand the subject matter.
Some examples of modules you might look into would be modules on memory management, concurrency, distributed systems, operating systems and others. There are also modules on testing which include both black and white testing and also code coverage. You need to understand the difference between the two. Black and white-testing are what the developers use to find bugs in your program. Concurrent programming is a lot about how you can maintain a project with as few cycles as possible. The final topic is testing, and it covers both unit testing and integration testing.
Once you’ve taken my exam for you to know if you’re ready to take the certification exam, it’s time for you to get started. Of course, you’ll need a computer and an internet connection for most of it, plus some extra programs that you might want to install. However, don’t worry too much about this stuff.
