I work in the hospitality industry with a resort and we have a very specific plan for how we will achieve our sustainability goals. Our plan involves improving our customer relations by improving the service we provide and being a responsible host traveller. We want to work with local tourism to produce and deliver clean tourism products and services. We want to create and produce a first rate wine for our guests to drink and to eat at our restaurants. We also want to reduce, reuse and recycle as much waste as possible, both onsite and offsite.
I believe that environmental sustainability and value creation take my exam for me because it helps to ensure that I will be proud to be associated with companies that support the environment and sustainable development. It is important that I do well on this section because if I don’t I may not get a job or companies will see me in a negative light during employment. I also feel that taking this section seriously helps to improve my English and make me a more desirable candidate. Even though I may think that I already know what I am doing, it is always good to brush up.
I completed my biodiversity studies and my Applied Animal Behaviour and Ecology degree a few years ago. I had hoped that I would not need this section when I took my environmental sustainability and value creation take my exam for me. However I have discovered just how valuable this subject can be during the interview process. This is especially true when you are looking for a job in a related environmental field.
My thesis was on the impact of biodiversity on sustainable landscapes. As an undergraduate this was a very exciting topic to learn about. Now as an Engineer I am finding that this topic and the research I did on it are particularly useful when talking to potential clients and when teaching my own students. In fact, one of my classes this year is on sustainable landscapes and this has been generating some interest from people outside of engineering.
Another section that I find really interesting is about human health and its relation to environmental sustainability. This is particularly important to me since I have spent most of my career working with animals and have developed many close relationships over the years. I am therefore eager to share some of my knowledge with future employers and hope that this will help me secure any job that I choose. In this section I will be looking at topics such as animal health, general health and wellbeing, endangered species, labour, animal rights and food safety.
As part of my preparation I have been reading books and articles on the topics I will be discussing in my exam for sustainability and value creation take my exam for me. This has really helped me develop my skills and I now feel very confident that I already know most if not all of the topics I will be covering in my examination. One of the books that I have picked up recently is Energy From Biohausts by Barnita Coleman. This book focuses on how we can utilise plant life to generate electricity. It looks closely at the effects of ecover on humans and how we can minimise exposure while still being able to consume a sustainable amount of energy.
