Taking the MBA Managerial Finance Exam

Managers and CEO’s of some of the biggest companies in the world have earned their degrees in Business Management, MBA, with a focus on Financial Accounting and Reporting. And just about every MBA program has a financial accounting and reporting module included as well. There are many companies across the globe that require MBA managerial finance certification for positions such as Manager of Finance or CEO. Most companies also want candidates with financial management experience in other industries and that are also members of the elite group of “World Class Executive Employers”.

The exams that are administered for this program are the International Finance round the clock; however the program itself is not University based. MBA degree holders are able to gain entry into many top rated business colleges like Wharton, Stanford, Harvard Business School and CA Investors to name a few. These organizations are like world class organizations and most international students graduate with their degrees and immediately find work with the company of their choice.

When taking an MBA managerial finance exam, one must be prepared to study hard. It is not like any other University exam you may have taken in the past where you can take a practice exam before finals. You have no guarantees that the questions on the MBAT will be easy, but you can be sure that it will be challenging. Although you may not be taking it in a similar fashion to your University studies, you should still pay attention and understand every question because the only way to pass is with solid, practical hands on experience.

There are many preparations that need to be made before sitting for this exam. It is important that you understand how a large company operates, how they make money and where they source their funds. This is an important part of your preparation, but remember that companies are very similar no matter what industry they are in. Many of their practices, you may come across in your daily life are the same as those of your company. Spend some time researching what these companies do so you will be prepared to answer the questions when they are posed.

While it may seem like a lot of information, it is very manageable to learn. As long as you approach it with the right attitude you should be able to excel in this area. Many people assume that they do not need any special background or education to succeed in a B-school. This is simply not true. There are many financial firms that are willing to give assistance to those who have the right B-school knowledge.

Those with a management degree have the knowledge needed to succeed in becoming a manager of any size within a company. A good knowledge of accounting and finance can help you achieve your goals as a manager and that of the company. Even small changes to your managerial style can have a large impact on your results. If you are a perfectionist by nature, you may want to avoid areas of your management that require a great deal of focus.

The cost for this type of MBA is higher than many students realize. Since there are many ways to get this type of knowledge, some consider their higher learning to be unnecessary. If you have access to resources that allow you to take classes while working, then you will be better off paying for it rather than taking an exam that will not help you achieve your goal. Some employers will pay for the course as long as you are able to pass a test after taking the class.

The exam does come with its own set of challenges. Take the time to study hard and prepare to take the exam. Your success depends upon the prior preparation you have done. In order to excel at a managerial finance position, you need to have a solid educational background in finance, accounting, and management. The B-school coursework will give you the knowledge necessary to effectively compete in the job market.
