Now that I got that out of the way, I am able to answer the original question that I asked myself. The first reason why I want to take an online test is because I can take a multiple choice or short answer section at anytime. This way, I will have a review of what I just read and learned. It is better if the book is not too heavy on the topics as there is nothing worse than being confused. There are also websites that offer free review copies of the materials they are teaching.
Taking online tests also means that I do not have to travel from class to class. If I were to walk up to one of those instructors in person I may run into some resistance to doing what they are telling me to do. However, with an online test I can simply log into the site, make my selections, and then pass the course with flying colors.
Another reason why I want to take my online test is because of the money that I can save. Tuition costs at local colleges can vary from school to school. With online courses you can take a look at prices for all of the subjects you want to study and have your payment to go towards the course instead of the cost of tuition. Now you might say that the money would be better spent in another area but some people want to make sure their education is top notch. Since online courses are more interactive, you are more likely to retain information that you have learned which will allow you to get a better grade.
Finally, taking multiple tests in a row can help keep the motivation going. When I am taking a test I always find a piece of information that I forget and I lose my focus and soon I will start to dread the test. By testing yourself you can see how well you retain the material and you can decide whether or not you want to spend more time on that section. In addition, if you have an upcoming test you can put off a test you are dreading until a week before it is due.
As with any type of testing, online tests come with pros and cons. One of the major advantages of online testing is that you can take them at any time of the day or night. You do not have to give up work or sleep in front of a computer just to go take a test. Online tests are very flexible and you can take them at a time that best fits your schedule. Another major advantage of online tests is that they tend to be much cheaper than a classroom-based test.
One of the downfalls of taking an online test is that sometimes you will need to revise what you learned. When taking multiple tests at once you will inevitably review some of the material. This means you will need to revise your assignments. To prepare for this effectively, you will want to spend some time reviewing the material prior to taking the test. If you review in advance then you are also able to look back over the tests and gauge how you did.
So as you can see, there are many reasons why I want to take my online test. The main one for me is the flexibility of scheduling the tests around my busy schedule. With online learning there are no set times that you have to learn the material. I find that I can learn and then complete it at my leisure. Another benefit for me is that I can get immediate feedback from others who are taking the same tests.
